The first school was Fairhaven School in Mundelein, Illinois where an old friend, Tanya Fergus, is now the principal. I held two assemblies there. One for Kindergarten and one for First Graders. The children were very responsive and energetic! A little girl named Emily even found a "clue" on the floor of the gym that confirmed what I had just revealed to them. She found a popcorn kernel! If you've read my book, you know what that means!
The second school was Brookwood School in Genoa City, Wisconsin where Teresa Curly is the principal. Two of my nieces, Keegan and Jillian, attend there. It was a wonderful day of four different assemblies ranging in age from Kindergarten to Third Grade. The children were extremely interactive and enjoyed having their imaginations "adjusted", a big part of my presentations when time allows! Pictures from this event can be found on the Author Visits tab.
My youngest brother, Paul, and his wife Carey (Keegan and Jillian's parents), were able to attend as was my oldest sister Audrey. My niece, Heather, told me that later that evening, at her daughter Autumn's dance class, she saw someone whom had purchased my book at Brookwood School that morning trying to find the twenty hidden items that I challenge book purchasers to search for!
My next event is a book signing and author's appearance scheduled for December 6th at the Lincolnshire Barnes and Noble Bookstore where Lincolnshire / Prairie View School District 103 will be holding their annual Book Fair. I am thrilled to be able to participate in this event! Then on December13th I will be at Peachtree Book Store in Bellefontaine, Ohio from 5:00 PM till 7:00 PM. for another author's appearance. I am looking forward to both nights! I love being an author!
